I’m looking for affordable ideas on making my backyard a fun livable space.

I planted a garden and flowers but there is approx 150 sq/ft of open dirt that I need to do something with (there is no grass b/c the previous owner didn’t take care of the space). I looked into Sod and Artificial turf for some “lawn” but the best price i’m finding for is $450 plus…I live in NYC so i’m finding it extra challenging to get a good quote

Any ideas what I can do with the space? Something else I can use to cover the dirt that I could still sit/walk on that would be more affordable.
